Forgiveness

It is consonant with reconciliation. It is a first step.
Reconciliation is a reconstructive state, not a barrier removal state.
Reconciliation is able to use the debris of the damage as rebuilding material for the future. Reconciliation doesn't forget because it uses the memory as a building block for the new relationship that it develops.
Reconciliation doesn't restore the relationship, it makes it new and better that the one that was wounded. That's what it takes to make the miracle of self-sown new life happen.
