The new Provincial Council of Brazil
On October 30, 2014, the Provincial Chapter of the Immaculate Conception Province of Brazil elected its new Provincial Council. The new Provincial is Fr. Edegard Silva Junior (54 years old) MS. Previously he was parroquial vicar in the Parish of Our Lady of Carmel in San Pablo, and was responsible for the formation of three postulants in the same parish. He initiated the participation of La Salette in justice and peace topics. Even before the Chapter he was a favorite candidate for Provincial. The Chapter elected the actual Provincial, Isidro Perin, MS (74 years old), as Vicar on the new Council. This choice reflects the fact that the Province wishes to continue in the same line as the previous Council. The second councilor elected is Arlindo Fàvero Daga MS (70 years old) and has been at the Shrine of Marcelino Ramos for 33 years, and was responsible for the La Salette magazine.
The new Council will name the new secretary and treasurer. The previous treasurer was Ildefonso Salvadego MS and the secretary was Marcos Almeida MS.
